Welcome to Sole Aim

(WHO) we are:  Sole Aim was founded in 2016 by Johnnie Beans Jr., A Whitworth University graduate student and Outreach Specialist at Community Health Association of Spokane (CHAS).  During his 2 years on the job, he realized that one of the gaps in services was the lack of quality shoes for those in need.  He was called to action and Sole Aim was born!  He collects new and used shoes and distributes them throughout the community to ensure that EVERYONE has a good quality pair to wear.  From the single mother who’s son/daughter made the basketball team and she cannot afford to buy him/her sneakers, to the homeless individual that wanders around aimlessly ALL day long with holes in their soles this ministry is for you!

(What) we do:  Sole Aim partners with local agencies to place donation barrels in their place of business as drop off locations.  We collect, clean and distribute the shoes to anyone and everyone in need throughout the community.  If you are reading this, this means you!  There is a misconception that this service is only for low income, homeless and down and out individuals.  While this is a lot of the population that we serve, Sole Aim wants to make it clear that if you are in need of a pair of shoes for whatever reason (short paycheck, garnished check, laid off from work, etc.….) WE ARE HERE FOR YOU!!

(WHEN) we do it:  As an Outreach Specialist Johnnie is on the road 8 hours a day, ensuring that the health and well being of those in the community is intact; with that being said he has the unique ability to deliver shoes to those in need right on the spot (in most cases, or he delivers them at an agreed upon day and time)!  His office is the vehicle that he drives, so he carries the most common sizes with him daily.

(WHERE) we do it: I am a big proponent of taking care of “Home” first.  I have called Spokane home for the past 25 years and feel that before I provide shoes to individuals in another city, country or area, I first must take care of those in closest proximity!

(WHY) we do it:  Because it’s the RIGHT THING TO DO! Edward Everett Hale I believe said it the best: “ I am only one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something.  And because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do the something that I can do.   Sole Aim is the “something” I can do; or should I say the something WE can do!  I cannot do this without your generous donations both shoes wise and monetarily.  PLEASE donate today!

(HOW) you can help:  Please donate your gently used or new shoes at one of our locations listed on our website: www.soleaim.org.  We truly appreciate all donations and encourage individuals to respectfully NOT donate shoes that you would no longer wear yourself (i.e.: shoes with BIG holes, torn, totally worn down).   We are also truly in need of monetary donations.  There are a lot of costs associated with running this non-profit organization (supplies to clean the shoes, bags to store the shoes, donation barrels, etc.……) Thank you in advance for your much needed support and donations.   All monetary donations can be sent to: P.O.
